Textual content description supplied by the architects. This former financial institution suffered a theft through which hostages had been taken, resulting in the time period Stockholm syndrome. After the financial institution closed, a number of interventions added a sequence of layers through the years, masking the unique neoclassic architecture.
The challenge cleans up area, leaving solely the important options. Though the flooring had been product of actual marble, many components had been fake marble, and the challenge performs with this duality. All of the pores and skin surfaces are monochrome inside the shades of the unique Ekeberg marble.
There are three rooms linked to one another by columns, and, on the finish of the primary axis, a brand new summary colonnade creates a brand new background. This faux colonnade is product of actual marble and supplies entry to the becoming rooms.
Items of marble furnishings by Max Lamb work as podiums whereas creating a brand new marble ground on high of the outdated one. As a counterpoint, the sunshine, designed by Benoit Lalloz, is technical and sharp.
